Green Chile Pepper Pear Pork

What is a great way to cook fast and easy? Use your slow cooker! I love using it for days I don’t want to stand in front of a stove or I just want food to be ready magically by the end of the hday or overnight. My slow cooker is the answer for this wish. I try to alternate my foods regularly, which is a good practice if you have food intolerances or even to prevent food tolerances (possibly). We had not had pork in awhile so I decided to see what I could use in my pantry. I keep staple items on hand always. Sometime I buy “one off” items if they have been marked down and I know I can use them eventually. Sure enough a jar pear jelly presented itself, as well as a can of green chile peppers, so that is what is for dinner. I had not tried this combination before but knew a little sweetness usually goes well with pork. So I gave it  a go. The verdict is….

Green Chile Pepper Pear Pork

A little bit of heat and a little bit of sweet definitely makes a great couple! Thumbs up from my husband and will be on my dinner list to make again.

A little note of encouragement: Use organic ingredients when possible. I know cost-wise or availability-wise its not always possible. But each time we eat is an opportunity to not only fuel our body but support it and give it the purest form of food we can.
